Showcase Sunday (12)

Showcase Sunday is a weekly event hosted by the lovely Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea.

Hello, book lovers!
I hope the weather is nice where you are. Here, it's rain all the time, and I'm getting pretty tired of it. Ah, well, at least I have some amazing books to read. Here's what I have to share this week:

As always, thank you to Pan Macmillan, Berkley, Atom, Kristen Painter, Margret K. McElderry Books, Bloomsbury UK, Angry Robot, St. Martin's Griffin, Penguin Books and Del Rey.

I obviously went a little wild on Netgalley and Edelweiss, but it doesn't matter, I'm looking forward to all of these. What did you guys get? Leave me a link and I'll drop by right away.
Love,

Showcase Sunday (11)

Showcase Sunday is a weekly event hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea.

Hello, book lovers!

I've spent the night reading Seraphina by Rachel Hartman so please forgive me if I stop making sense at any point. Seraphina was... well, I'm trying to organize my thoughts and emotions into a decent review, but in all honesty, I'm failing spectacularly. It's a bit too big for words, that book. (And here I am, not making sense at all. ;))

Here's what I received this week:

Eyes to See by Joseph Nassise (The Great Undead War, #1)
King of the Dead by Joseph Nassise (The Great Undead War, #2)
Boneshaker by Cherie Priest (The Clockwork Century, #1)

King of the Dead has such a creepy, fantastic cover. I regret not having a finished copy, but I'll live. I'm also very excited about Boneshaker. A big thank you to Tor Books and Pan Macmillan for these pretties.

Aaaand that's about it. What did you guys get? Leave me a link and I'll be there in a sec. :)
Have a great Sunday!

Showcase Sunday (10)

Showcase Sunday is a weekly event hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea.

Hello, my dear nocturnal readers.

It's been a good week for The Nocturnal Library. I've participated in Something Wicked Comes, a blogging event hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings and Babbling About Books. The lovely Ms. Ann Aguirre answered a few of my questions about zombies, Halloween and more. You can still enter to win a copy of her latest book, Outpost. And if you're more of a contemporary fan, there's a giveaway of MY favorite contemporary YA, The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson, HERE.

Okay, moving on. Here's what my mailman surprised me with this week.

The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis, recommended to me by everyone who reads.

E-books:

The Dark Heroine by Abigail Gibbs, which I'm now reluctant to read because all the reviews I've seen have been awful.
Breathe by Sarah Crossan, which I'm also not sure about anymore.

And that's it for this week. As always, thank you to HarperCollins and the amazing Ms. Ann Aguirre.
And as Lisa would say, happy daylight saving! (To which I say that it's all doom and gloom outside and that there's no daylight to be saved.)

What did you guys get? Leave me a link and I'll stop by right away.

Showcase Sunday (9)

Showcase Sunday is a weekly event hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea.

Hello, friends!

I haven't done one of these posts in a while, mostly because I've been trying to keep my review copies to a minimum. I apologize to my friends for visiting and commenting late these past two weeks. I'm hoping things will calm down a bit soon.

Here are some of the books I've received:

Do you guys remember how much I loved The Reapers Are the Angels by Alden Bell? It's one of my favorite books of all time, and now I finally have the sequel, Exit Kingdom. I've been reading it very slowly, savoring every word so be ready for a very enthusiastic review once I'm done.
Thanks to the lovely people at Scholastic UK, I was lucky enough to read and review The Raven Boys pretty early. But even before that, I ordered a signed and doodled in copy from Fountain Bookstore. Here's what it looks like inside:

I am very OC about having complete series on my shelves, and so far, I've been missing Unholy Magic by Stacia Kane. A Kindle edition simply isn't enough for one of my favorite series in the world. Now I can hug this beauty whenever I feel like it. If you still haven't met Chess Putnam, you should, and soon.

Endgame is the last installment in Ann Aguirre's Sirantha Jax series. It is one of the most beautiful, satisfying conclusions I've ever read. I actually proofread this baby and I'm in the acknowledgements, so if you want to know my full name, go out and grab a copy. :)
Remember how I always say that I've read everything Ann Aguirre published under her own name? Well, it's true, but it's about time I read her other books as well. She was kind enough to send me Skin Tight, a paranormal romance she published as Ava Gray. Even though PNR is not really my genre, Ann writes romance so well that I'm confident I'll enjoy it. I'll let you guys know. Here's what was inside:

I heart you right back, Ms Ann!

Some of my new ebooks:

Moonshifted by Cassie Alexander
Through To You by Emily Hainsworth
All the Broken Pieces by Cindi Madsen

Prey by Tim Marquitz
Necromancing the Stone by Lish McBride
Laid Open by Lauren Dane

As always, my warmest thanks to Pan Macmillan, St. Martin's Press, Ann Aguirre, Entangled Teen and Tim Marquitz.
And that's all for this week. What did you guys get? Leave me a link and I'll visit right away.

Showcase Sunday (8)

Showcase Sunday is a weekly event hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea.

Hello, my dear nocturnal readers!

This has been such an exciting week for all of us. There are so many amazing new releases I'm waiting to get my hands (and eyes) on, and a few I already have. Here's what I have to share with you today:

A huge thank you to Tor Teen for Girl of Nightmares
Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2) by Kendare Blake

This is actually my second copy of Girl of Nightmares (ah, accidents, accidents), which means I'll be giving one away next week so make sure to stop by. On a side note, don't you just love Nekro's cover art?

Thank you to Atom Books and Random House Children's Books

It was pure luck that I received The Lost Girl just day before reading Keertana's review or I would have gone insane while waiting for my copy to arrive. She made this book sound absolutely brilliant!
I finished The Diviners yesterday and I'm still trying to write something that will do this book justice. It was pos-i-tute-ly amazing!

A special thank you to Macmillan Children's Books for these two beauties.

What did you guys get this week? Leave me a link and I'll be right there!

Love,

Showcase Sunday (5)

Hello, darlings!

It's been a while since I've done my last Showcase Sunday post. I feel like I've been neglecting you all, and I've tried very hard not to. I have plenty to share with you this week, though! I am one lucky girl.

First things first: I was lucky enough to get review copies of Foretold by Jana Oliver, Wake by Amanda Hocking and Rebel Heart by Moira Young. Follow the links if you're interested in reading my reviews. These books surprised the hell out of me, you guys, and all in a very good way.

Here are some of the pretties that found their way to my mailbox in the last couple of weeks or so:

Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff
Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake
Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
The Hunting by Sam Hawksmoor
Preloved by Shirley Marr
Losing Lila by Sarah Alderson
Foretold by Jana Oliver

Unravel Me came my way because I have wonderful and thoughtful friends. Jasprit, you're really and truly the best. The rest of you, please visit The Readers Den if you haven't already. Jasprit and Rachel write fantastic reviews and are both warm and kind to just about everyone in the world.
Preloved was sent to me by the lovely Nomes @ Inkcrush, along with some very fine Australian chocolate. A million hugs for her.

I only got two books in e-format. I've been trying to request as few books as possible, but these two were impossible to resist.

Diverse Energies by Paolo Bacigalupi, Ursula K. Le Guin, Malinda Lo et al.
Trapped by Kevin Hearne

My absence wasn't entirely due to spending time on the beach. I actually did something useful and productive, or well, someone else did it for me. The Nocturnal Library will be going through some HUGE changes in the upcoming week. That's all I'm going to say for now, except, OH, MAN, I hope you guys will like it.

Thank you for sticking with me through this period of rather irresponsible blogging. You people rock and I love every single one of you.

As always, thank you to Pan Macmillan, Hachette Children's, Random House and Lee & Low Books!

Please leave me a link to your Sunday post and I'll visit later today.

Showcase Sunday (4)

Hi, guys!
Showcase Sunday is a weekly event hosted by Vicki at Books, Biscuits and Tea. I hope you're all having a great weekend. I've been incredibly busy these past ten days, but things are calming down again and my vacation is almost here. I can't wait to shut the world out and just read. I've been looking longingly at my beautiful books for far too long.

My poor mailman has been working overtime this past week and I didn't make it any easier on him. Here's what he had to carry around:

So many wonderful books, so little time! I'll be spending more time on the beach in late July so hopefully I won't have to wait too long to read these beauties.
Thank you to Mira Ink, Pan Macmillan, Hachette Children's Books, Tor, Scholastic UK and Simon and Schuster.

What did you guys get? Please leave me a link and I'll drop by later today.
Love, Maja
