Apologies and Congrats

Hello, my beloved nocturnal librarians!

I'll start with apologies, shall I? I apologize profusely to every single one of you for practically disappearing off the face of the Earth. It's been a hectic time on my little piece of the planet, what with moving (which is always hard, but it's downright disastrous for someone as resistant to change as I am), kids starting school, going back to the Uni after a long and rather enjoyable vacation...

Here's a photo of me and my first grader in front of our new home. :)

Sorry if it's a bit blurry, my phone is not the best choice for taking pics.

Anyway, I apologize again for leaving my virtual kingdom unattended. You know I love you guys and I missed you every day.

As for the congrats part, here goes:

Congratulations to Misti S, winner of The Last Hurrah giveaway here at The Nocturnal Library. She chose to receive The Distance Between Us by Kasie West (an excellent choice, if you ask me) and her prize has been sent to her from The Book Depository.

Aaaand that's all, folks! Tomorrow, I'll be reviewing one of my favorite 2013 releases, Perdition by Ann Aguirre, and on Tuesday, Night Witches by L.J. Adlington. After that, it's anyone's guess. :) But I WILL be reviewing and commenting and spending time with you lovelies, because you make me happy.

See you around the blogosphere!
Maja

  5. I'm so glad you're back, Maja! I was wondering if something was up, but I'm happy that you're okay. Hopefully you'll be able to settle down in your new home soon. I'm pretty resistant to change too, so I can understand the hesitancy. And you and your daughter look lovely together! I hope she enjoys her time at school. :)

  7. Welcome back, Maja. Don't worry about it. Life happens, right? Anyway, as exciting as the prospect of a new environment is, packing, moving, unpacking sucks. I refused to move just because the idea of packing up all my books terrifies me. Lol.

    :)

Looking forward to all your reviews!

  8. Moving is so stressful! And kids in school...I dread it. Mines under 4 so I have some time but I get nervous thinking about it. Welcome back!

  9. Congrats on your new house! I hope you love it and that you're settling in well. Big changes like that are always stressful. Good to see you around again, though!

  10. Moving can be so stressful but exciting once you settle in.

I think a lot of us (including myself) took time off this summer.

I can't wait to read what you have to say about Perdition. I LOVED that book.

  11. I cut back on blogging this summer too. Moving is the worst, but it sounds like you've got most of it behind you!

  12. I can totally understand the whole moving thing...my husband and I bought a house last year and moving was horrible! My son is in first grade also and I still can't believe how much homework he has!

    Congrats on your new house!

  23. I just moved too so I definitely understand how hectic that can be. Plus your little girl is just starting first grade and you starting back to Uni! How exciting and stressful for both of you. You are both gorgeous & look happy! My son just started middle school & I've been excited, nervous, depressed (I'm so getting old)& a ton of other exhausting emotions about this transition from child to pre-teen.
I'm glad you're back Maja, I look forward to your reviews. :)

  24. Welcome back! I hope that moving went relatively well. I'm not a big fan of change either, so I completely understand. Adorable photo!! :)

  25. Welcome back Maja! No need at all to apologize for being absent when life demands your attention. I'm glad the move went well. What a lovely picture, you both look so beautiful and happy in front of your new home! I can totally relate to the stress of moving and needing to go MIA for awhile, I recently moved cities and it was just too much to juggle with being online regularly. So glad you're back and can't wait to read your reviews! :D
