You guys all know how much I love Urban Fantasy, right? More than any other genre. More than cookies and chocolate milk. More, even, than blueberry muffins. But I constantly fear for the genre; most of the good old series are losing their steam, and there aren't enough new ones to make up for it. It is because of this that I appreciate Cecy Robson's The Weird Girls series more than I can put into words. The first book was wonderfully imaginative and original (my review) and I just know the second book will be, too. I'm delighted to share this gorgeous cover with you today.

Title: A Cursed Embrace
Series: The Weird Girls, #2
Release date: July 2nd 2013
Publisher: Signet
Paperback, 368 pages
Celia Wird and her three sisters are just like other twentysomething girls—with one tiny exception: They are the products of a curse that backfired and gave each of them unique powers that made them, well, a little weird.…
After Celia Wird and her sisters help master vampire Misha save his family, their powers are exposed to the supernatural community of the Lake Tahoe region. But fame comes at a price, and being “weird” isn’t always welcome.
To make matters worse, Celia desires the love of Alpha werewolf Aric, but his pack is bent on destroying their relationship to preserve his pureblood status. And once weres start turning up dead—with evidence pointing to the vampires—she must face the prospect of losing Aric forever. But the chaos only makes a new threat. An evil known as the Tribe has risen—and their sights are set on Celia and her sisters.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Cecy (pronounced Sessy) Robson is an author with Penguin's SIGNET ECLIPSE. She attributes her passion for story-telling back to the rough New Jersey neighborhood she was raised in. As a child, she was rarely allowed to leave the safety of her house and passed her time fantasizing about flying, fairies, and things that go bump in the night. Her dad unwittingly encouraged Cecy's creativity by kissing her goodnight wearing vampire fangs. Gifted and cursed with an overactive imagination, she began writing her Urban Fantasy Romance Series, Weird Girls, in May 2009. THE WEIRD GIRLS: A Novella and SEALED WITH A CURSE are now available. The second novel in The Weird Girls Series, A CURSED EMBRACE, releases July 2, 2013.
FIll out the Rafflecopter for a chance to win a signed copy of SEALED WITH A CURSE. (I'm not sure I'm ready to share Aric, but it doesn't seem like I have a choice.)

PS: Thanks for dropping by my blog (Fiction Fascination). I LOVE your blog - I have added it to my blog roll! :) x
Ooohh LOVE the cover! I should start reading more Urban Fantasy books; everyone's been recommending ones that sound fantastic to me but I haven't had a chance to read any of them! Thanks for sharing, Maja<3
ReplyDeleteCecy Robson's The Weird Girls series already grabbed my attention with beautiful cover. I don't know how I missed your review, but I'm glad to hear it's good. I may give it a chance. It's good to come across new uf series, the old ones are so long, I have hard time starting them. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I remember when you reviewed the first book to this series, and me not being a huge urban fantasy fan I was immediately curious! Thanks for sharing this gorgeous cover with us! And also the chance to share Aric with you! ;)
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this series but I LOVE urban fantasy
Thanks for the great giveaway!
I like Urban Fantasy and Paranormal but I can't seem to read them more then I do. But if there's romance, count me in! These books sound great and the covers are pretty cool too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway!
Woha I haven't seen this series before but this girl on the cover looks badass :D I know you love UF and I should get to it too. And that Aric boy sounds interesting :) Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteOooooo this series sounds AWESOME Maja!!! Both covers are really pretty, love the flourishes on the title font:) I have to say I'm definitely looking forward to meeting Aric, I'm always in the mood for an alpha werewolf:)
ReplyDeleteWhhaaattt...?? You like Urban Fantasy?? hahaha... Maja, you're the Queen of UF. :P And if you say this is a fantastic series then this definitely needs to go on my list. Love that new cover too!
ReplyDeleteI love that both covers have the same "theme". I hate it when they change covers after one or two books in a series. I've heard about it before and added it to my TBR list but didn't find the time to read it yet. Vampires and werewolves, I'll never get bored reading about them! Thank you for the international giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about UF. I haven't read that many but I just know of a handful and the one series that I keep up with is, in fact, losing their steam.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm glad Cecy appears now and I've read great things about this series, with covers to die for! The first one is my favorite but this one is gorgeous too, the colors are so perfect.
Fingers crossed, I'm really looking forward to this new series :)
Love both covers!
ReplyDeleteI've read great reviews on this series - so definitely on my TBR list!
Thanks for the generous giveaway!

ReplyDeleteTotally love the new cover! Plan on reading this book very soon but signed copies are always cherished!
ReplyDeleteYES! Thanks so much for the giveaway. I also love UF and I've had that first book on my wishlist for a while now. Can't wait to dive into this series! Love the new cover too!
ReplyDeleteI love the covers for these series! Gosh, I really need to pick up Book 1, don't I? Thanks for the reminder, Maja - I'll be bumping it up my TBR at once! :D
ReplyDeleteI know how much you enjoyed the first one and it does sound like a really great series, even if UF isn't my top genre. I'm glad you enjoy UF so much and still find some faith in new books because sometimes genres are in fear of becoming too repetitive.
ReplyDeleteStunning cover with the colours around the girl who looks rather menacing. Thanks for the giveaway! :-)
Ooh I really like it! I actually think I prefer this cover to the first book's cover. Also... why can I never pull off that facial expression? ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Maja!
I really love this cover! I remember reading lots of good things about the first book and I really do love UF as well! I have a lot of catching up to do, but at least this is one series that there aren't 17 books to read first so it's not so daunting. Definitely going to give them a try!
ReplyDeleteMOre than blueberry muffins? And Chocolate? Um...yeah. I can get behind that. While I couldn't give those things up I ADORE WITH A PASSION urban fantasy. It's my go-to genre. Hands down.
ReplyDeleteMaja I preordered book one and plan to read it in March *bounces* I love the new cover and am excited. I love Urban Fantasy and am really excited to begin this!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win! Beautiful cover!
ReplyDeleteEeep! I totally can't wait for this one to come out either. :D Wonderful new cover for Cecy. :D
ReplyDeleteLol! The first thing I thought was, dude check out her abs! I'd kill for abs like that!
ReplyDeleteShe looks so hot it makes me jealous - I wish I looked like her! That's one of my favorite things about UF books, there is almost always a hot guy or girl on the cover.
ReplyDeleteOne of the many reasons I love coming to your blog is you keep introducing me to amazing new books I probably would have never heard about otherwise. This series sounds AWESOME! Love the sexy but tough feel to these covers too. I can't wait to meet Aric! I always have room for another werewolf love interest in my TBR pile. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnother great UF?!! I'll have to pick this one up too! Great cover and thanks fo rthe giveaway. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you to The Nocturnal Library for featuring the cover reveal of A CURSED EMBRACE and to everyone who stopped by. You're all very kind!

The 'first time in print' circle thing is VERY strange.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, though, I do like the cover- she looks like a badass.
I love the cover! Can't wait to read this!!!!
ReplyDeleteJolene A
I love this cover!! Like it even more than the first one. I so enjoy good UF and Cecy's books, based on every single review of and blog post about them that I've read, certainly fit the bill! And, yes, I have been stalking this book on pretty much every blog it's visited, so I was thrilled to see you were covering this too, since I have just recently started following you :) I have the novella but I want to wait to read it until I have book 1 in my grubby hands because I know I'm going to want to read it right away! Thanks for featuring the cover reveal and offering the giveaway, And I'm so glad to hear that you loved Sealed with a Curse!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely looking forward to this book!
ReplyDeleteThe cover is great and this series seems really interesting. Definetly on My to read list :)
