Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
For this week I've chosen a new book by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
Release date: April 15th 2014
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
Hardcover, 384 pages
Samantha is a stranger in her own life. Until the night she disappeared with her best friend, Cassie, everyone said Sam had it all-popularity, wealth, and a dream boyfriend.I'm not a big fan of contemporary, but it's JLA, you know? This has to be good! Plus, would you look at that cover?! April seems so far away, even though it really isn't.
Sam has resurfaced, but she has no recollection of who she was or what happened to her that night. As she tries to piece together her life from before, she realizes it's one she no longer wants any part of. The old Sam took "mean girl" to a whole new level, and it's clear she and Cassie were more like best enemies. Sam is pretty sure that losing her memories is like winning the lottery. She's getting a second chance at being a better daughter, sister, and friend, and she's falling hard for Carson Ortiz, a boy who has always looked out for her-even if the old Sam treated him like trash.
But Cassie is still missing, and the facts about what happened to her that night isn't just buried deep inside of Sam's memory-someone else knows, someone who wants to make sure Sam stays quiet. All Sam wants is the truth, and if she can unlock her clouded memories of that fateful night, she can finally move on. But what if not remembering is the only thing keeping Sam alive?
What are you guys excited about this week? Leave me a link and I'll drop by. Or don't leave me a link and I'll drop by anyway. :)
Have a great Wednesday!
You really can't go wrong adding a JLA book to your TBR pile ever. I love that cover too, so creepy! Great WoW choice, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI swear...that cover could move when I saw the cover reveal on some blogs! Is it just me? o.O So creepy. I can't wait for this one either!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, luv! <33
JLA will have me reading just about anything lol I've not heard too much about this book, but I'm curious. Great pick :)

My WW!
I've grown rather tired of JLA lately, so I doubt I'll be picking this up unless I read truly spectacular reviews of it. Great pick, though, Maja!
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a contemp fan, but this one sounds dark and eerie enough that I might give it a try! Love JLA!
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Hmmm, this book sounds similar to other books that I've read. But that cover, I remember having one of those little music boxes when I was young!

I'm definitely going to wait to hear what you think of this book before because it sounds like so many other books out there (not surprising to be honest).
ReplyDeleteI do like that cover. It's very unique-looking.
Great pick, Maja!
Dolls. *shudder* Actually, this ballerina looks like the one in my jewelry box as a kid! Except she wasn't all creepified and looking in a cracked mirror. JLA certainly cranks those books out, doesn't she? Impressive.
ReplyDeleteThe cover on this one is so different for all her other reads that I want to read it for that alone!
ReplyDeleteIt does sound pretty good
ReplyDeleteThat cover is definitely creeptastic. I like that it looks like JLA might be going out of her comfort zone a bit with this one! And so happy that that couple isn't on the cover. *barf*
ReplyDeleteI am excited for this one too. Hope you get to read it soon.
ReplyDeleteI don't read a lot of contemp either, but I love this cover! It sounds like fun! Great choice:) Here's my WOW.
ReplyDeleteI love this cover! The blurb sounds great, plus, JLA has a way of making a story addictive! Great choice, Maja! :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading this one even though I haven't had such fair luck with her other work.
ReplyDeleteGreat pick, Maja!
besides the gorgeous cover, it looks like it might be a great read :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting cover. Armentrout is definitely on a roll. Hopefully this one pans out!
ReplyDeleteOh wow - I wouldn't guess that was by JLA from the summary or cover.
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually into the amnesia trope but this does sound pretty good.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
You are so right... JLA totally sold it for me as well! :D
ReplyDeleteThat cover is really original and the fact that the ballerinas don't match really creeps me out. I'm adding this to the ol' TBR.
ReplyDeleteMy WoW
JLA is awesome. I love her books. Can't wait for this one either. This looks like it will be another good one.

This does look good, and I like JLA.
ReplyDeleteShe is a writing machine! I can't even begin to keep up! But I like that this sounds different from her other stuff. Sounds good!
ReplyDeleteGosh! Love the sound of this one! That's a really eerie cover too.

I like the cover, and I feel like I want to read more after reading the blurb. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that the premise for this one still hasn't grown on me much, but I know I'll probably end up pre-ordering it anyway! Like you said, it's JLA, and her books nearly always seems to work for me. I love the cover too.
