Showcase Sunday (6)

Hi everyone!

The summer is, sadly, over, at least for me. Only a week left before both my daughter and I return to our usual schedule, which means no more lazy mornings on the beach.
Ah, well.
At least I received some lovely books to keep me happy and entertained.

Here's what arrived

Heaven by Cristoph Marzi
The Highgate Vampire by Asa Bailey
Two Weeks' Notice (Revivalist, #2) by Rachel Caine
Spark (Elemental, #2) by Brigid Kemmerer
Crewel by Gennifer Albin
Eve and Adam by Katherine Applegate and Michael Grant
Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Ferragost (Lumatere Chronicles, #2.5) by Melina Marchetta
Molasses by Kirsty Eagar
Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter

Since my last SS post, I reviewed Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi, The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater and Heaven by Cristoph Marzi.

As always, thank you to Hachette Children's, ROC, Kensington, Mira INK and Macmillan Children's.

What did you guys get? Leave me a link and I'll be there in a nanosecond... or two.

  8. FERRAGOST! I. Am. So. Jealous! I keep forgetting that it's out already but I need to read it so badly! I think I'll just sneak out some of my birthday money which is being used for boring stuff like clothes and driving lessons and buy this instead. I mean, it's Melina Marchetta! You just can't go wrong! ;) Anyway, wonderful haul Maja! I've heard some conflicting reviews of Alice in Zombieland, but I do hope you like it. Plus, I can't wait to read Spark this week myself! :D Happy Reading!

  13. Oh I'm excited to read your thoughts on the Rachel Caine series, I should really go see what you thought of the first book. I totally wrote off Working Stiff when it came out last year because I hadn't yet discovered my love for Urban Fantasy, but now I'm thinking it's worth a second look.

I really enjoyed Crewel, though the plot is pretty wrote as far as YA dystopians go. I'm excited to read Eve & Adam as well!

  17. I just finished Spark yesterday and absolutely loved it - even more than Storm! I'm starting to get a little obsessed with the Merricks now. ;) Can't wait to hear your thoughts. Alice in Zombieland was a lot of fun too. It's not a book that you can take too seriously, though it was a bit (a lot) clichéd in parts. Still, I hope you enjoy it! :) Another awesome book haul for you, Maja.

  18. Amazing book haul, Maja! Ahem... not that I expected any less of you. ;) I also received Crewel and Eve & Adam last week, which I look forward to your opinion for both. And you have Molassess?? I'm envious. ;)

I can't stop gazing at Alice in Zombieland and Heaven- both have utterly gorgeous covers. :) Enjoy your goodies, my dear. :)

  20. Summer is also almost over for me but instead of the beach, there won't be much reading getting done sadly.

The Highgate Vampire looks really interesting as well as Heaven. Onyx rocks, of course and I have been seeing Eve & Adam everywhere! Enjoy =D

    Here's my Book Haul post.
