Waiting on Wednesday: Foretold (4)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagarly anticipating.

For my fourth WoW post, I've chosen an anthology by some of the best young adult authors today, including Richelle Mead, Simone Elkeles, Laini Taylor, Michael Grant, Lisa MnMann, Saundra Mitchell et al.

Expected publication: August 28 2012.
Publisher: Random House Children's Books
Hardcover, 368 pages

Have you ever been tempted to look into the future? To challenge predictions? To question fate?

It's human nature to wonder about life's twists and turns. But is the future already written? Or do you have the power to alter it?

From fantastical prophecies to predictions of how the future will transpire, Foretold is a collection of stories about our universal fascination with life's unknowns and of what is yet to come as interpreted by 14 of young adult fiction's brightest stars.

As lovely as short stories by Laini Taylor, Lisa McMann and others sound, what I'm really excited about (to the point of losing sleep over it) is the story about Rose and Dimitri visiting Russia. After everything Dimitri went through in six Vampire Academy books, I can't wait to see him reunited with his family, especially his grandmother. And I guess it's nice that Rose will be there too. ;)

Who else preordered this one?

As always, thanks for stopping by. :)

  1. The stories do sound interesting. Lots of ones predicting the future. I wonder if Rose and Dimitri will have their future predicted. I am kind of curious to see how his family reacts to him being back from Strigoi.

  15. Am I the only one who's absolutely in love with this cover? It's SO PRETTY in that dark, mysterious, and I-want-to-know-what's-behind-that-cover kind of way! x) And I usually don't pick up anthologies, but I really want to pick up this one because there are so many amazing authors in it -- like Richelle Mead and Laini Taylor! (Who doesn't want more Rose and Dimitri? <3)

    Amazing pick, Maja! :)

  16. I haven't preordered this one yet, but I DEFINITELY will as soon as I, well, have money. Between the awesomeness of Laini Taylor, Heather Brewer, and Michael Grant and the Rose-and-Dimitri tale (I just love those two. So much.) I think it's pretty much a given that I'll adore this.

  18. DIMITRI and ROSE?? Gosh, now I know I have to buy this book! Can't wait to meet that couple again after Last Sacrifice! Although because of some reasons the book completely broke my heart, I'm still eager to meet Rose and Dimitri! Richelle Mead makes the best books, even her short stories rock! x)

Super awesome pick, Maja! You make me restless in my waiting on this book! :D
