Sunday Post (3)

Hello, honorary librarians! Happy new year to you all. :)

Here's what's been going on at The Nocturnal Library:
I recently reviewed three books:
Eon: Dragoneye Reborn (Eon, #1) by Alison Goodman
The Lost Girl by Sangu Mandanna
Beyond: A Ghost Story by Graham McNamee

I have two giveaways running at the moment. There are plenty of books to choose from.
My Year in Books: Favorite Young Adult Releases
My Year in Books: Favorite Adult Releases

New books:

Thank you to Sam @ Realm of Fiction for my copy of Renegade by J.A. Souders and to the lovely Gina Linko for my copy of Flutter.

Beyond: A Ghost Story by Graham McNamee
Elixir (Covenant, 3.5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2) by Veronica Rossi
Thank you to Hachette Children's and Atom for these pretties. I'm not much of a photographer, I know. :(

E-books:

The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd
Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes
Dark Kiss by Michelle Rowen
I loved the first two - the reviewes are scheduled for later this month, but Dark Kiss I abandoned halfway through.

The Rules (Project Paper Doll, #1) by Stacey Kade
Roar and Liv (Under the Never Sky, 1.5) by Veronica Rossi
Broken (Extrahumans, #1) by Susan Jane Bigelow

Next week, I will post reviews of Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi (which I adored!), Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley, Leashing the Tempest by Jenn Bennett, and I will share with you an excerpt from The Cadet of Tildor by Alex Lidell.

What about you? Please leave a link and I'll visit right away. As always, thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it.

  1. Eep, Through the Ever Night!! I am seriously SO excited for that book- only 2 more days until it releases! It's one of the few books I have on pre-order. But I'm so excited that you adored it, Maja, and definitely will be reading your review. I got Renegade a few weeks ago, and I surprised myself by really enjoying it! It was action-packed and the main character actually kicked some butt, which is always good to see. ;) Rules also looks really intriguing, and I'm interested to see what you think of it, to know if I should pick it up or not.

Fabulous haul Maja! It looks like you've got some awesome posts lined up for this week, I'm especially excited to read your thoughts of When Things Come back, and of course, your review of TtEN. ;) Enjoy your lovelies! <3

  2. Hey, FUNNY. THERE'S A FUNNY THING. I'm actually reading Renegade today to review for tomorrow. We're so awesome. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT like I'm sure I will.

Also, you've gone and done it now. You've made me feel invaluable because I'm still the only one who does not have access to Through the Ever Night. I HAVE NOTHING TO LIVE FOR, do you understand? It's the sequel, THE SEQUEL *sobs*

*recovers* Ooooh, yay for Falling Kingdoms! I can't wait to get started on my copy! And if you loved it that gives me a resurgent of hope!

Hopefully sometime soon I'll get my hands on it. :) OMGOMGOMGOMG I can't wait to see what you think of TTEN!!!!! Everyone's been simply raving about it, and it's total torture for me, knowing it's already out and not having it in my hands. :P Enjoy your lovely haul!

  13. Great haul Maja. I managed to finish Dark Kiss but it wasn't very impressive, not a series I'll be continuing. Hope you enjoy the rest of your books. Happy reading hun :)

  14. Amazing haul, Maja! I really enjoyed Roar and Liv and I hope The Rules is good because I loved Kade's Ghost and Goth trilogy which was hilarious! I'm really looking forward to your reviews this week, especially Falling Kingdoms as I know a lot of people seem to like it, but I keep having a block against it because of a few negative reviews that have really made me think I won't enjoy it. If anyone can convince me otherwise, though, it's you!(; Happy Reading!

  18. Oooh, Renegade and Falling Kingdoms I've heard lots of good things about. I'm really excited to start reading Falling Kingdoms when I get my hands on a copy.

I still need to start Under the Never Sky series, but I've heard all good things so it's one of the books that I'm going to be reading in 2013.

Great haul. Hope you enjoy! :)

  19. What amazing books! I want to start The Covenant series. I read The Madman's Daughter and liked it. My review will go up this week. I have to get a copy of Falling Kingdoms. That is one series that I am hoping to not fall behind on. Enjoy your lovely books.

  20. Oh some awesome books Maja! I adore your cover of Through the Ever Night much more than the version I have! I don't really like the cover to Flutter, but I saw on Goodreads that you really enjoyed it so yay! The Project Paper Doll Rules also sounds fantastic. I hope you enjoy all your books :)

  21. I'm currently reading The Madman's Daughter and quite enjoying it, and I'm pleased that you did too (minus some of the flaws like that irritating love triangle). I wasn't a huge fan of Renegade, but I know Keertana and Sam thought it an impressive novel, so you'll probably like it more than I will anyhow. :) The Rules sounds fascinating and I've heard superb things about Falling Kingdoms! Brilliant haul and enjoy all, Maja. :)

  22. Ahh, I still need to read The Madman's Daughter! I'm so glad you enjoyed Falling Kingdoms, I can't wait to read your review of it! Funny thing, Morgan Rhodes and Michelle Rowen are the same people, but you hated Dark Kiss and loved Falling Kingdoms. ;) The Rules sounds freaking fantastic!! I still need to read Renegade as well, such a pretty cover too. *strokes cover* AWESOME books this week, darling! Happy reading :)

  24. Dark Kiss was not memorable so I can see why you wouldn't finish. Can't wait to see what you think of Madman's Daughter. I didn't request it and I want to know if that was a mistake. Elixir took the edge off of Deity as you know, so yay, but how did you get a physical copy?! Jealous! Enjoy your reads, Maja. :)
