Feature & Follow Friday (7)

Hello, darlings! It's been a very busy week, but fortunately, it's time to pick up a good book and relax during the weekend.

This is our seventh Follow My Book Blog Friday, hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Click on the image to learn more.

Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

Huh, well, nothing special. I drove for hours and waited in line at 1 am to get Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but I think everyone did that! Right? Right?! These days you only need one finger to get the book you want. The Book Depository changed everything for me.
I can't wait to read your stories!

Thanks for stopping by, book lovers.
Your Euro team,
Maja & Lisa

  1. Happy FF! New follower here, returning last week's follow. I've never done anything particularly crazy for a book either, though I've came close once.

  3. I actually started reading the Potter books after they were all out so I didn't do the midnight thing. I did for the movies! Although now I don't do much. One click buying at amazon where it goes directly onto my kindle is the life now!

  6. Oh yes, I did that too! Although me and my friend "hung out" near the register in the last hour of the release party so we were one of the first few people to get it, since numbers 1-5 were offered as prizes. We were still in the first group though since we came early the day of the party and waited in line to get a line ticket!

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  10. Haha, I did something similar. See, I don't think driving four hours and waiting in the middle of the night for Harry Potter is crazy at all. It's Harry Potter!

Have a great weekend my lovelies. :)

  11. Right! I agree it was very difficult for me to have English books, because in France we don't have a lot. Book Depository is perfect, but I can't sopt myself for buying books.

  15. Happy Friday! Haha, yeah MOST everybody did that. For that one, though, I think I pre-ordered it through Amazon... and it hit my doorstep the day before!

I love that most of these "crazy" stories are Harry Potter related. ; )

  16. I think that is almost everyone's "crazy" story today, including mine! With online bookstores, and eBooks, there is no need to stand in line for books anymore.
    Thanks for stopping by!

  17. HP really stormed the book world and I thought I wouldn't get engulfed with it since I was still convalescing from my book splurge from LOTR. I guess my resolve further dissolved when my friends kept at it for me read the series. hahaha.

  21. For me Harry Potter 5 or 6 is probably the craziest one for me.

When book 5 was released I was at church camp (my senior year, the last time I was ever going to be there). Dad had to pick me up early because I was going on a mission trip (different church lol) the next day. So he picked me up, letting me stay as long at church camp as feasible. They're were MANY MANY tears because it was my last summer. We drove back, went straight to the bookstore (was after 1am, party had already ended) bought Order of the Phoenix, then I stayed up all night reading. Then I got carsick driving from Kentucky to Pennslyvania (thru WV) and didn't finish it for a week (I also realized who was going to die and was delaying that). PS My Daddy clearly is the best.

When book 6 was released our family was going to be on vacation (I KNOW RIGHT!) so I looked up the book stores in Myrtle Beach, found one that seemed reasonably easy to find called and pre-ordered my book there. Then I talked my dad into taking me and my brother to the bookstore, dropping us off (I was 19, he was 14) and letting us wait in line for the book. Chad didn't originally have a pre-order so I bought him the book, also bought him his first starbucks. It was a lovely evening for us both, brother sister bonding.

Book 7 release was also crazy and wonderful BUT I don't know that it lives up to those 2.
