Feature & Follow Friday (2)

Hey, lovely people! This is our second Follow My Book Blog Friday, hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. We had so much fun doing this last week so we decided to spend another friday with all of you. The rules for participating are actually very simple. Click on the image to learn more.

This week's question:

When you’ve read a book, what do you do with it? (Keep it, give it away, donate it, sell it, swap it..?)

My books are my babies: I love every single one of them and I often reread my favorites. I'm afraid that means that I don't give them away very often. I often buy books for friends and family, though. I don't mind buying an extra copy for one of my loved ones, as long as my own copy stays on my shelf, beautiful and shiny. Also, I never ever break the spine if I can help it (sometimes, with thick paperbacks, you just can't), and I make sure to keep my favorites somewhere where I can always see them.

Happy Follow Friday! Feels like a holiday, doesn't it?

  1. You are like me, I keep all my books too. I do break the spines, though, can't help it. My most loved books are very dog-eared. Thanks for the follow. I'm following back.

  2. I'm with you. I LOVE my books like children. I cry when they come back from being loaned to a friend with broken spines or bent covers! Most of the time there is NO reason to break a spine, and it drives me batsh*t crazy. I never break spines, either. I treat book reverentially :D

    I re-read them and keep them forever--even the ones I didn't really love :S

Mwaha! You're so right: Happy FF. It makes me happy just saying it. It's like Christmas every Friday!

  4. Yeah, I know right? Why give away my copy of it, I'll just get them one as well, that's what I always say!! It benefits us all, I get to keep mine, you get yours, the writer has sold 2 of them... :D
I also love the fact you're careful with them and try your best to not alter them, I'm almost religious in keeping my physical copies in great shape. There's people that have this policy of, "if the book doesn't look read then it wasn't", like you're supposed to leave havoc in your trail to prove a point or something - I strongly disagree.

So I'm happy we've connected, we're of similar mind. Thanks for stopping by my place, I'm following you now (and I love your blog, it looks awesome~ xD)

Have a great weekend, and Happy Holidays!

  7. I loaned a book to a friend once and it came back with the binding all cracked. I got mad and they said, "You can read without breaking the binding? Isn't that what they are for?"
I swear it was like we were speaking two different languages, except mine was one that loved books.

  12. If only books can say shiny and pretty forever, but since I read my favorites (and I mostly just keep or buy my faves...) SO much they start... falling off + plus they gain some stains, and folded pages and other damages :p

  18. I'm glad I'm in good company :) Except for the spine-breaking thing, I'm pretty bad about that. I like to think of it as "well-loved." But it usually only happens to mass market paperbacks, because they are so small and you have to pry them wide open to read them at all! Otherwise my books remain in tip top shape!
Thanks for stopping by on the hop!
